During Playstation's E3 press conference, we were given a glimpse of a paid subscription service to be released towards the end of June, June 29 to be exact, and it will be called PS+. But the questions is: will it be worth the price? Here are the details on what PS+ will offer Playstation gamers:
- Full Game Trial - A designated game will be available for trial with an unspecified length. Sony is stating in their press release the user may continue playing the game by purchasing the full title on PSN. In the first month, Sony will make a trial of Infamous available.
- Free Games – New games will be made available for play each month, from PSone classics, to minis, and will be available for play so long as your membership is not expired.
- Special themes and avatars will be another added freebie each month.
- Discounts will be available each month for designated titles. This can include PS3 titles and PSP included.
- Exclusive priorities given to subscribers for Betas, Demo’s, and video content before public distribution.
- Automatic Downloads – Your system will automatically download game updates, firmware updates, etc. At a designated time, your PS3 will turn on, download and turn off when completed
If you are not an intense Playstation gamer then PS+ will be sure to benefit you. According to Playstation it will cost $49.99 for a one year subscription.
